Two Wake Forest basketball players accused of sexual assault
"I am excited to be the next men's basketball coach at Emerson College," O'Brien said in a statement . "During the past few years, I have become familiar with Emerson while watching other friends coach in the (Great Northeast Athletic Conference). Emerson is a great school and seems like a great fit for me at this time in my life. It affords my wife and I an opportunity to continue to live in Boston, a city that we love, while allowing me to focus on what I enjoy most: being in a gym and coaching a team," he said.
Noted that Emerson has experienced success in the GNAC, citing titles in 1998 and 1999, and six other appearances in title games. But the team went 10-16 last season, and coach Hank Smith, according to the school, "decided to leave the college to pursue other interests" after 16 years.Smith's departure led to O'Brien jumping back in the coaching game.
"As of this afternoon, Westleigh Storm Johnson is no longer a part of the University of Miami football program," Miami coach Al Golden said in a statement released through the school Tuesday night. "When these situations arise, we always assist the student-athlete and his family in the transfer process. We wish Storm success in all future endeavors."
His departure leaves Lamar Miller and Mike James as the lone experience ball carriers in the backfield entering this fall.
It also marks the fifth player to seek a transfer from the school since the end of spring practice. Linebackers Travis Williams and Kevin Nelson and defensive backs Jamal Reid and Devont'a Davis are no longer with the program.
The next move for Johnson, one of top-rated running backs in the 2009 recruiting class, is undetermined. The Georgia native will return home, according to his dad, before making a decision on his future.

It's official: Adam Robinson is a former Iowa football player.
Robinson's mother, Sally Robinson, said Tuesday that the running back from Des Moines will transfer.
"All I can say now is that he's exploring his options," she said. "We don't know where he will be enrolling, but he will be someplace, hopefully in time for summer school."
Robinson, Iowa's top rusher last season with 889 yards, was suspended from the team by coach Kirk Ferentz before last December's Insight Bowl, then on the eve of the game, he was charged with possession of marijuana.
