Divorce referendum: Catholics duty-boundto vote 'Yes' – movement

The newly established Catholic movement in favor of divorce law, Kattoliċi: Iva Għax Dritt (Catholics: Yes, because it is a right) said yesterday that Catholics have the duty to vote in favor of the Act Divorce in the upcoming referendum on May 28

Movement spokesman Caramel Hili said in a statement that Catholics must follow the teachings of Jesus Christ while respecting each other.

The movement campaigned against the idea of ​​imposing their beliefs on others, and said that the issue is not whether divorce is good or bad thing, but rather whether the Catholic beliefs should not be imposed everyone in the state.

Some Catholics, including some members of the clergy, insisted that the person voting "yes" at the upcoming referendum, or the one who abstains, would be committing a sin, said the move, adding that he has received several reports that show this is one of the main concerns of Maltese Catholics against the referendum on divorce.

In the spirit of Jesus Christ, and in light of the teachings of the Gospel and the social doctrine of the Catholic Church, the movement said that the vote in favor of the law on divorce or abstinence does is not a sin, but Catholics have a duty to vote "yes."

The motion cited the Maltese bishops recently said it's a good thing to provide legal protection in respect of certain civil consequences, to people who are in a stable relationship that is not officially approved.

This same principle applies to divorce.We Catholics are considering divorce, such as cohabitation, as a bad thing, but we still believe the state should be possible to get a divorce.

We must first examine what is canon law. It is the attempt to take the Gospel where every Catholic believes and strives to live, and codified in a series of regulations so that people can be Catholic governed in a manner that is consistent with the teachings of Jesus Christ. This follows from the ecclesiastical authority.

The Father gave Jesus all authority in heaven and on earth. Jesus, in turn, adopted this authority to his Church. It allows him to teach, govern and sanctify the faithful. Without it, the community of the Church is impossible.The Church expresses its legislation in a series of rules called canons, who were adopted and codified over the last 2,000 years.

Much of canon law, as our laws against abortion, divorce and simony, is drawn directly from Scripture, and therefore is divinely inspired. Many other guns fire from the sacred tradition and natural law and therefore, they too, can be counted as coming from God. Not only are these guns inspired, they are immutable and essential.

There are other guns that, although human in origin, were written with the legitimate authority and are therefore mandatory.The difference between these and the other is that these can be modified, and a waiver of them can be given if it would better serve the mission of the Church. For example, canon law decrees that man must be at least 24 years to be ordained priest. Although human-caused, the gun meets the requirement very reasonable, that priests are mature. The pope can not, for good cause, dispense with this gun, or maybe a century from now, it might decide to increase or decrease.

There is a difference between a garden and a jungle.Both consist of flowers that only God can create, but it has been arranged in such a way as to make the flowers more beautiful by making it more orderly. Without it, there is only the chaos of the jungle. So, too, with the Church. Christ has created, but we humans have taken what Christ has given us and made more effective through the organization. Canon law is the main instrument by which it is done.
